Kamaki Kamahaku - Head Coach

Kamaki grew up in Hockinson and has lived in Clark county for most of his life. He attended Hockinson Elementary and Middle School but went to Prairie High School. Kamaki has been married for over 18 years to his wife Natalie and has 4 children.

Kamaki will be coaching for his second year at NWAS but has 8 years of coaching experience. He coached his twin boys, Michael and Tommy,  in volleyball for 2 years and coached his oldest daughter JJ last year at NWAS. His youngest, Ellie, will be playing for him this year!

Kamaki has been playing volleyball for over 30 years! He began at age 15 right here in Clark county playing Junior boys in CEVA at Prairie High School in the early 90's and played against coach PT! He was trained as a setter in his youth, became an outside hitter as he grew older, and has now transferred to libero in his older age. He has continued to play indoors and outdoors, grass and sand, in leagues and tournaments. He has played in various formats including 6's, quads, and doubles in reverse and regular formats. Kamaki is a "Beach Foreman" for the Seaside Beach Volleyball tournament (the worlds biggest amateur beach volleyball tournament in the world) and helps ensure it runs smoothly over the past 8 years.

"I love volleyball! I love the community and the family that I have made over the past 30 years. I love coaching the younger players and watching them learn and grow. I try to instill that same love of the game into all my players and encourage them to have fun! I believe in honesty, trust, teamwork, and sportsmanship."
