We are thrilled to announce the expansion of NWAS Volleyball Club location in Eugene/Springfield Oregon! We are ready to welcome players, coaches, and families alike.
We’ll be offering 14s, 16s and 18s club teams for the upcoming 2024-2025 season including our training programs, camps, clinics and more.
Leading our Eugene branch will be our new club director Carrie Kreidler, who’s been a long time follower of NWAS and actively involved in the volleyball community for our region. You also might recognize her at the annual Seaside Beach Volleyball Tournament as she is one of our NWAS tournament directors. More details about Carrie in her bio!
Carrie Kreidler has spent a good portion of her life on or near volleyball courts. She started playing when she was 10 years old. After having children (3 girls, 1 boy), Carrie moved into the officiating side of volleyball. She became a high school official for several years until her oldest daughters were old enough to play and then switched to coaching her daughters Kidsports teams in Eugene. She coached all three of her daughters. Not only did she coach volleyball but also soccer. But Volleyball has always been her favorite sport. She was the JV2 Head coach for 3 years at Marist Catholic High School. Carrie assistant coached with two club teams last season. She is currently assistant coaching at Lane Community College.
Carrie retired from the federal government in 2014 where she worked in accounting. Her retirement has allowed her to do all sorts of volleyball related things. She has been a tournament director for many years with CEVA, area high schools, and many clubs within Oregon. She is a tournament director for both indoor and beach. She is also a tournament director at the Matt Hartner Memorial Classic and Seaside Beach Volleyball Tournament. She was a member of the CEVA Board of Directors and served as the Treasurer for four years. As well as being a member of many CEVA committees including Diversity and Inclusion, Finance, and Nominations & Elections. Carrie was awarded the CEVA Cindy Leatherberry “Silent Hero” award in 2022.
Carrie obtained her National rating for USAV for Scorekeeping in 2021 and attends the USAV Opens National Championship Tournament every spring to serve as a scorekeeper. Carrie also has been a scorekeeper for the 3A/4A State Volleyball Championships the past couple of years. She is the scorekeeper for Bushnell College Volleyball and will be adding the scorekeeper for OSU Volleyball for this upcoming season. She loves keeping score for games and teaching others how to keep volleyball score whether it's high school, college, or club.
“I have loved the sport for as long as I can remember. I want to help young people to have that same love of the sport and for them to stay involved as they get older. Whether they coach, officiate, run tournaments, or play for fun. I believe in sharing positivity and inclusiveness. I am thrilled to be a part of NWAS for the upcoming season. I have found my family and look forward to sharing it with the Eugene/Springfield area.”
